HELENA, Mont.- The Frontier Conference announced their Track and Field Athletes of the week, and Montana Tech has taken three of the four spots.
The men swept the two awards with
Ian Barville, and
Jesse Mecham both having great weekends. Barville won the 800m, just 1/10
th of a second off the B Standard time. Mecham placed third in the shot put, (and was the highest NAIA finisher in the field) with a throw of 16.08. That mark flew past the NAIAÂ -A standard, and was also a new PR for Jesse.
On the women's side,
Rylee Armstrong took home the honor after she placed second in the long jump. The freshman went 5.98m, far past the NAIAÂ -A standard of 5.78m, that jump is the fourth farthest jump in the NAIA so far this season.
The Orediggers are at the Trudnowski Invitational this week, before hosting the Frontier Conference Championships next week.
