SPOKANE, Wash. -- Hadley Humpherys scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, Hallie Neibauer scored 12 off the bench, and the Montana Tech women's basketball team cruised to a 75-49 win at NCAA Division III Whitworth Saturday afternoon.

The game was close in the early going. Montana Tech held an 18-13 lead after the first quarter of play.

The Orediggers (4-0) earned some breathing room in the second, finishing the period on a 9-2 run to hold a 36-23 lead at halftime.

Tech then put the gas pedal down in the second half, outscoring the Pirates (0-1) 39-26 after the break.

Avery Carlson, Brooke Badovinac, and Liv Wangerin scored nine points apiece for the Orediggers. Wangerin added a game-best 13 rebounds and tied Humpherys for the team lead in assists with four.

The Orediggers won the battle on the boards, 55-33, and outscored Whitworth from the free-throw stripe, 18-5.

Montana Tech will take next weekend off before hitting the road for North Dakota the following weekend to begin Frontier Conference play. That begins Friday, November 21 at Mayville State.
