SPOKANE, Wash. -- Matthew Moreni continued to etch his name in the Montana Tech track & field record book Saturday, highlighting an effort for a contingent of men's sprinters at the Spokane Invitational.
Moreni covered 400 meters at The Podium in an indoor program-record time of 49.73 seconds, finishing sixth in the event. That time topped
Adam Schrader's 2024 record at the distance and ranks 34th in the NAIA this season.
Konnor Gregerson also ran well in the event, crossing the line 11th at 50.36.
Teammate
Zach Merrifield led the Orediggers in the 60m dash, clocking in 18th at 7.01 seconds, followed by Moreni in 29th (7.09). Moreni's time bumped him up to sixth on Montana Tech's all-time leaderboard in the sprint.
Adian Dorr also raced for the Orediggers, finishing 26th in the 200m dash (23.66) and 43rd in the 60m (7.21).
Montana Tech's track & field teams will break for the holidays before returning to indoor action January 23-24 at University of Idaho's Lauren McCluskey Memorial.
