BOZEMAN, Mont. -- The Montana Tech track & field teams wrapped up the indoor regular season Thursday with a handful of fine performances at Montana State's Big Sky Tuner.
Matthew Moreni paced a stable of fast runs with a program record in the 200-meter dash inside Worthington Arena. The  freshman won the event in 22.68, and
Will Wagner,
Caden Caywood,
Adam Schrader,
Dom Maricelli, and
Morgan McClernan all posted top-10 times as the Orediggers took first through seventh in the event.
McClernan also logged an event win in the 60m hurdles, clocking in at 8.38 seconds. Jackson Perry won the high jump (1.95m) with the 49th-best mark in the NAIA in that event this season, and
Skyler Peterson won the triple jump (13.12m). Peterson also checked in a big indoor personal-best in the long jump at 6.52m, placing second.
Carter Henke took third in the 400m dash at 51.91 seconds. His converted time of 51.20 ranks second in the Tech annals.
Jadyn Vermillion again set the pace for the Oredigger women. The senior took second in the women's long jump with a 5.83-meter jump, and she also raced to fourth in the 60m dash with a new indoor collegiate best of 7.70 seconds. That converted time of 7.72 improved Vermillion's hold on second in the program record book and ranks 31st in the NAIA.
Rylee Armstrong and
Grace Ekness also etched their names in the Tech all-time top 10 in the 60m dash. Armstrong ran sixth in 7.92 (7.94 converted, fifth all-time), while Ekness was eighth in 8.01 (8.03 converted, sixth all-time).
Ayla Janzen (7.92) and
Ellie Aron (8.69) finished seventh and ninth in the race, respectively.
Ekness also led the charge for the Oredigger women in the 200m dash, coming in at 26.96 to check in third all-time at Tech.
Cora Pesanti's 27.94-second run in that event also put her inside the Tech top 10 at ninth.
Alyssa Jany ran to second in the 3,000m, coming in at 10:36.72 to jump up to second in Tech history in that event after the altitude conversion.
Montana Tech will look ahead to the 2025 U.S. Marines NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships. The Orediggers qualified 10 student-athletes for the championship meet, which begins February 27 in Gainesville, Fla.
