BISMARCK, N.D. -- Freshman
Asher Williams scored a career-high 22 points, leading four Montana Tech players in double figures as the No. 19-ranked Oredigger men's basketball team rolled to a 90-68 road win at Bismarck State Friday night.
Williams shot 8-for-12 from the field to lead the way for Montana Tech off the bench.
Brayden Koch added 19 points for the Orediggers (11-3, 5-3 Frontier Conference), while
Hayden Diekhans and
Camdyn LaRance scored 11 points each.
Tech started the game with a 14-4 run, but the home team battled back quickly. BSC (0-14, 0-8) to four on Houston Davis' 3-pointer in the final minute of the first half, but Williams knocked down a 3 of his own with 29 seconds before halftime, and the Orediggers led by seven, 37-30, at intermission.
The Orediggers wasted no time reasserting themselves in the second half. Koch opened the period with a 3-pointer, sparking an 11-0 run over the first 2:02 as Tech erased any doubt. Koch finished the second half with 16 of his 19 points, including a 3-for-4 effort from behind the 3-point arc.
Davis set the pace for the Mystics with 15 points in the game.
Montana Tech will look to run its road win streak to four Saturday with a 7 p.m. tip at Dickinson State.
