HAVRE -- Montana Tech's 17th-ranked women's basketball team hit the road Saturday and completed the season sweep of MSU-Northern with an 83-64 triumph in The Armory.
Halle Haber led the way for the Orediggers (21-4, 17-4 Frontier Conference) with a game-best 18 points to go along with eight rebounds. The sophomore led four Tech players in double figures.
Liv Wangerin added 15 points and six rebounds,
Hadley Humpherys contributed 14 points and seven rebounds, and
Brooke Badovinac added 14 more points.
Montana Tech nearly led wire-to-wire. The Skylights (16-10, 12-9) led 4-3 in the early going, but Tech scored the next five points and never trailed again. Haber scored nine of her 18 in the first period, and the Orediggers led 22-19 after 10 minutes.
The Orediggers' hot shooting continued in the second, and Tech took a 46-38 lead into the half.
After halftime, Tech kept the hammer down. Wangerin scored 10 of her 15 in the third period to extend the lead, and the team cruised to victory.
The win kept the Orediggers alone in second place in the Frontier Conference headed into Saturday's regular-season finale at Providence. Tip in Great Falls is scheduled for 7 p.m.
