KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Montana Tech's women's and men's basketball teams combined for eight NAIA Scholar-Athlete award-winners, the national office announced Tuesday with its full list of winter honorees.
Seven women's basketball players —

Selene Morrell,
Olivia Nielson,
Rachel Van Blaricom, and

A student-athlete must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, appear on the eligibility certificate for their sport, and have attended their institution for at least one full year. A total of 3,143 winter-sport athletes made the grade.
This honor recognizes NAIA student-athletes in the sports of basketball, bowling, competitive cheer, competitive dance, swimming & diving, and wrestling.
Montana Tech's basketball teams both qualified for postseason play in the Frontier Conference tournament, which will be contested February 27-March 2 at the Butte Civic Center and hosted by Montana Tech.
The Oredigger women, ranked No. 17 and sporting a 22-4 record, carry the No. 2 seed into the tournament. Tech's men are 21-7, received votes in the latest NAIA top 25 poll, and are the fifth seed in the eight-team bracket.
