SPOKANE, Wash. -- Abby Clark continued her personal revision of the Montana Tech women's track & field record book Thursday, winning the pentathlon in record-setting fashion at the Riverfront Invitational & Multis. 

The graduate student from Fort Benton topped her own Oredigger record in the high jump, clearing 1.70 meters on her way to victory in the pentathlon at Spokane's The Podium. She bested her previous top mark, set at the 2024 NAIA indoor national meet, by .02m. Clark won two of the five pentathlon competitions, the high jump and shot put (10.71m). She was second in the long jump, sixth in the 800m run, and seventh in the 60m hurdles. 

Her high jump mark secured the NAIA's 'A' qualifying standard for the 2026 national meet. The top 16 pentathlon scores qualify for nationals. 

Clark totaled 3,576 points in the multi event, just 19 points off her collegiate best and school record. The mark put Clark, a two-time NAIA All-American in the pentathlon, second in the country on the season leaderboard. 

Sophomore Emma Konen also enjoyed a successful day in the multi, placing 10th with 2,789 points. The Twin Bridges native moved to 39th in the NAIA season rankings and sixth all-time at Montana Tech. Konen's best efforts came in the high jump and 800m, taking seventh in both. 

Montana Tech will continue its stay at The Podium's Riverfront Invitational & Multis over the weekend, when a contingent of Oredigger men will participate in sprint events. The rest of the team will hit the road Friday as well, heading to Bozeman for Montana State's Carignan Classic.
