HELENA -- For the second time in as many weeks and the third time this season, Montana Tech volleyball's Rhys Layton claimed the Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference setter of the week award, the conference announced Monday. 

Layton, a senior from Eagle, Idaho, powered the Orediggers to three home wins last week. She totaled 121 assists, 31 digs, seven kills, five blocks, and an ace over the course of the week. 

Layton's big week began Wednesday with a double-double in the Orediggers' four-set victory over Montana Western. She had 40 assists and 10 digs to go with three kills and a block in her 2026 home debut. 

Then she added another double-double in Friday's four-set victory over Bismarck State. Layton collected 39 assists and a season-best 18 digs, adding three blocks, two kills, and an ace to her tally. 

On Saturday, Layton dished out 42 assists — her second-most of the 2026 campaign — to go with three kills, two digs, and a block in a straight-sets win over Dickinson State. 

Layton's weekly honor is her third of the season and the eighth of her Montana Tech career. 

Winners of 10 matches in a row, Layton and the Orediggers hit the road again this week for a pair more Frontier Conference matches. That trip begins Thursday evening at No. 19-ranked Bellevue before Tech heads to Dakota State for a Saturday matchup.
