Orediggers Skin Wolves

Butte – The Orediggers ran down the Wolves Saturday night. The Montana Tech men defeated Walla Walla 91-61.

Montana Tech (7-3) pick up their second straight win and are 3-1 at home this season.

Walla Walla (1-15) can't find their second win of the season against the Orediggers.

The Orediggers scored the first four points of the game and didn't look back. Bryan Bock hit three consecutive from beyond the arc in the first half leading the Diggers with 14 points. Adam Greger had 13 points before the break.

Montana Tech shot 51.5-percent from the field in the first half and only turned the ball over four times.

A different set of Orediggers saw a majority of playing time in the second half. Montana Tech was able to expand their lead and finished with their largest margin of 30 points.

Freshman Paul Engstrom had 10 points in less than seven minutes of play in the second half. He finished the game with 12.

“Our two biggest positives were sharing the ball and not turning the ball over. Anytime you have a 2 to 1 assist to turnover ratio, we are accomplishing positive things,” said head coach Aaron Woliczko.

The Orediggers had 20 assists and ten turnovers in the game.

Bock led all scoring with 18 points and seven rebounds. The junior hit 7 of 12 on the night.

Greger had 16 points, three boards and a pair of assists.

Dan Simon had a double-double turning in 12 points and 10 rebounds in only 17 minutes on the court.

The Orediggers host the Wolves again tomorrow at 2 p.m.
