BUTTE, Mont. – The University of Great Falls wouldn't quite go away Friday night, but Montana Tech eventually held off the Argos 75-67.
Montana Tech (8-8, 4-5) improved to .500 basketball while trying to creep up in the conference standings.
Great Falls (12-11, 2-8) loses their fourth straight game.
Mandy Machinal led the Orediggers with 16 points including going over the 1,000 point milestone with a three pointer in the second half. The junior guard hit 3 of 4 from three point and 6 of 9 in the game. She also had two rebounds, two assists, a
steal and a block.
Kelsey DeWit, who also went over the 1,000 point mark last Monday, also had 16 points in the game hitting 8 of 13 from the field. She also had eight rebounds, two assists and three blocks.
Kabri Emerson was the only other Digger in double-digits netting 14 in the game. She also had six rebounds and an assist. Emerson shooting was at a high clip hitting 6 of 7 from the field and 2 of 3 from the line.
Nneka Nnadi led the Argos with 19 points off the bench. She also had three rebounds and three assists.
Montana Tech is home again tomorrow night when they host the Carroll College Fighting Saints.
