Box Score BUTTE, Mont. - The Orediggers eclipsed the century mark for the first time in the young 2014-15 season with a 100-57 victory over Concordia-Alberta Saturday night. Montana Tech improves to 2-0 on the season while the Thunder fall to 5-2.
Tech played well on both ends of the court by shooting 47.1 percent from the floor and forcing 30 Thunder turnovers.
Senior
Adam Greger led the way for the Diggers with a game-high 20 points and eight rebounds while
Paul Engstrom had his second double-double of the season with 11 points and 14 rebounds. Junior transfer
Chase Haack added 17 points and four steals in 26 minutes of action.
The Thunder we led by Artez Scharer and Ryan McLaren who had 14 and 12 points respectively.
Both teams came out even early on in the first half. Tech jumped to a slight 14-8 lead with 12:16 to go. The Diggers quickly increased their lead to 28-18 thanks to a steal and lay-up by Haack. The Digger defense played a major role late into half forcing several Thunder turnovers. Tech fed of their defense and went on a 24-6 run to take the 54-30 lead into halftime.
The Orediggers continued the beating in the second half with an early 7-0 run increasing their lead to 31. With 14:12 remaining the Thunder chipped the lead down to 64-42 but that was as close as they would get as the Digger offense was too hot to handle.
Montana Tech is back in action on November 1
st when they travel to Dickinson, N.D. to take on Dickinson State University Blue Hawks.
