BUTTE, Mont. - The Montana Tech men's basketball team look to continue their strong start to Frontier Conference play when they travel to Salt Lake City, Utah to face the Griffins of Westminster on Thursday then Montana Western on Saturday. Both contest are slated for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
For the RecordThe Diggers saw their season-long eight game win-streak snapped with an 80-73 defeat by Rocky Mountain College last week. Tech bounced back with a dominating performance against rival Carroll College. MT shot 72.1 percent from the field on their way to an 80-57 victory.
Adam Greger had a stellar week averaging 23 points per contest.

Scouting the GriffinsWestminster received early praised to start the 2014-15 season. WC was picked to finish atop of the Frontier and earned the 15th stop in the NAIA Preseason Top 25 Coaches Poll. The Griffins have struggled as of late with an 8-10 record and 1-4 in conference play. WCÂ are in the midst of a three-game losing skid including a 68-63 lost at MSU-Northern and 67-53 defeat at Great Falls last week. Junior Quincy Bair leads the team averaging 12.7 points and 3.1 rebounds per contest.

Last Time vs. WestminsterThe Griffins held on to an 80-73 victory last year in Butte. Tech rallied from a 17-point first half deficit but came up just short.
Bryan Bock led the Diggers with 18 point.

Scouting the BulldogsThe Montana Western saw their Frontier leading 13-game win streak come to an end in the hands of MSU-N last week. The Bulldogs dropped the 68-56 decision in Havre then fell to 19th-ranked Great Falls, 89-84 the following day.

Last Time vs. Montana WesternTech and Western squared off on Feb. 20, 2014. The Bulldogs came out firing early and never looked back in a 90-68 win in Butte. The victory marked the 14th consecutive for Montana Western. Greger and
Antonio Snow paced the Diggers with 17 points apiece.

Diggers in the pollsFor the first time in over a decade, Tech has received votes in the NAIA Coaches Poll. The Diggers received 33 votes in the latest installment putting them just outside the top-25.

Frontier FarewellThursday's game at Westminster will be Tech's last conference game in Salt Lake City, Utah as the Griffins are departing the Frontier Conference to NCAA DII Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) on July 1, 2015.
