Paul Engstrom's 23 points weren't enough as Montana Tech (5-2) fell 90-78 to Eastern Oregon University.
The Oredigger big man was 7-of-15 from the floor, a perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line, and grabbed eight rebounds in the loss while Montana Tech shot just 40.9 percent from the floor.
The real difference in the contest was that the Mountaineers hit 12 three pointers compared to 4 for the Diggers.
Jalen Coates and
Cruz Ginns Jr. chipped in 18 and 16 points respectively. Coates, the sophomore guard, added five assists and three rebounds for Montana Tech. Ginns Jr. was 5-of-9 shooting and 5-of-6 from the free throw line.
Flemming Okeke scored nine points and
Lukas Vining added eight points for the Diggers.
The Orediggers head to Salt Lake City, Utah next weekend to take part in the Westminster Thanksgiving Classic. The Diggers take on Texas Wesleyan University Friday night at 4 PM.
