Box Score DILLON, Mont. – Montana Tech could not overcome a low scoring first half Thursday night falling to hot shooting Montana Western 80-47.
Western finished the game shooting 60 percent from beyond the arc going 14 of 23.
The Bulldogs led 8-6 with three minutes into the game. Over the next ten minutes, they produced a 15-2 run finishing the half with a 37-12 lead. Western hit 8 of 16 from three in the first frame.
The drought continued for Tech not scoring until four minutes into the second half trailing 52-14. The Orediggers had back-to-back scores from
Paul Engstrom to ignite the offense.
The Orediggers had 23 turnovers.
Engstrom led the Diggers with 14 points and six rebounds.
Jalen Coates had 13 points.
Flemming Okeke had 10 points and nine rebounds.
Dexter Williams Jr. had a game high 19 points and eight rebounds.
Montana Tech is in Billings Saturday against Rocky Mountain College.
