Men's Basketball Falls Short Against Saints

Box Score HELENA, Mont – Montana Tech came up just short against rival Carroll College in the final minute falling 65-60.

Santos Piquera hit a two-pointer with 1:06 to play to tie the game at 61-61. After Chris O'Neill missed on a three pointer, Piquera was fouled. He hit both of his free throws to push the Saints ahead 63-61.After not scoring on the next possession, the Saints moved ahead 65-61 on a pair of free throws from Ryan Imhoff.

The Orediggers (11-13, 3-10) just missed a second upset going 1-2 on the season against the Saints.

Tech trailed 30-28 at the break but jumped out to a six point lead in the second half. Carroll worked back into the game in the final minutes.  

Jake Miles and Carson Dummer had 12 points apiece. Dylan Pannabecker had 11 and John Chapman added 10.

Imhoff finshed the game with 28 points and seven rebounds.

Montana Tech is on the road again Saturday when they travel to Billings to face Rocky Mountain College.
