WHITEFISH, Mont. – Montana Tech's Tavia Rooney was selected the Frontier Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
Rooney, a freshman forward from Townsend, Montana, averaged a double-double in Montana Tech's three games at the Phoenix Frontier Classic tournament last week. Rooney averaged 15.6 points per game and 13.6 rebounds per game.
The Player of the Week award is the second for Rooney who currently leads the Frontier Conference in double-doubles (8) and in rebounding (12.07 RPG) while averaging 10.9 points per game.
The Orediggers went 2-1 in the Phoenix Frontier Classic defeating San Diego Christian and Northern New Mexico before falling to Our Lady of the Lake (Texas).
Montana Tech returns to action on January 9th when they take on Rocky Mountain College in Billings at 5:30 p.m.
