WHITEFISH, Mont. – Montana Tech's Mollie Peoples was named the 6^th Player of the Year as well as earning honorable mention on the Women's Basketball All-Conference Team announced today by conference commissioner Kent Paulson. Mesa Williams was selected to the second team and Kaylee Zard received an honorable mention nod.
 
Montana Western's Lindsay Woolley was named Coach of the Year along with senior guard Brianna King repeating as Player of the Year.
 
Carroll College's Hannah Dean and Rocky Mountain's Alecia Chamberlin were selected Co-Defensive Players of the Year. Rocky freshman and Butte native Kloie Thatcher was named Freshman of the Year. Sydney Hovde of MSU-Northern was selected as Newcomer of the Year.
 
Peoples, a 5-foot-8 guard from Butte, Mont., averaged 10.9 points a game while shooting 42.4 percent from the field and 34.5 percent from beyond the arc. The sophomore consistently came off the bench adding valuable points. Peoples had solid performances against ranked conference opponents with game-highs of 23 points against Providence and 20 against Carroll College.
 
Williams, a sophomore guard/forward from White Sulphur Springs, led the Orediggers in scoring this season averaging 13.2 points a game. Williams shot 43.8 percent from the field and 39.7 percent from three point range. She also averaged 3.7 rebounds. Williams ranked fifth in the conference in scoring.
 
Zard is appearing on the all-conference team for the second straight season. The 6-0 junior forward was second in the league in rebounds finishing with 262 and averaging 9 per contest. Zard, from Forsyth, Mont., also averaged 10.8 points per game.
 
The Orediggers finished the season with a 13-17 overall record.
