Scouting No. 8 University of Providence
The Argos of the University of Providence had their 15-game winning streak snapped on Saturday against Carroll College in a 93-88 loss in Helena. The Argos who are coached by Steve Keller (2nd season) are led in scoring by junior Zaccheus Darko-Kelly who leads the Frontier Conference averaging 22.2 PPG. Darko-Kelly was 7-for-9 from three and scored 33 points in the Argos loss to the Saints. The Argos lead the NAIA in Free Throw Percentage (78.9%) and are third in the nation in Scoring Offense per Game (96.4 PPG). The Orediggers won the first two matchups with Providence last season before falling to the Argos on the road in February.
 
Scouting MSU-Northern
The Lights of MSU-Northern have stumbled lately losing both games this past week to Carroll College and University of Providence. The Lights, coached by Oredigger alum Shawn Huse (18th season) who was named Frontier Conference MVP his senior season, lead the NAIA in Assist/Turnover Ratio (+2.13) and are sixth in Scoring Defense per Game (65.0 PPG). The Lights are led in scoring by Mascio McCadney (15.3 PPG), Kavon Bey (15.2 PPG), and Adam Huse (12.3 PPG). The Orediggers haven't defeated the Lights since January of 2015 and their last home victory over Northern was on on 2/11/2012.
 
It Has Been A While
Montana Tech's two road victories this weekend were the first back-to-back Frontier Conference road wins for the program since January of 2015 when Montana Tech defeated Northern and University of Great Falls in January of 2015. The win was also the Orediggers' first road win against Montana Western since the 2007-08 season.
 
Diallo Again and Again
Montana Tech junior Sindou Diallo averaged 24.5 PPG while shooting 45.7% from the floor over the weekend. Diallo is averaging 21.0 PPG overall and 25.0 PPG in Frontier Conference action. Diallo is sixth in the Frontier Conference shooting 50.5% from the field.
 
Turning Them Over
The Orediggers are leading the NAIA in Turnover Margin (+7.6) and are seventh in Steals per Game (10.7). Dylan Pannabecker (28), Derrius Collins (22), Taylor England (21), and Christian Jones (20) are all in the Frontier Conference Top-10 in that category.
