Scouting the No. 21 Fighting Saints
The Carroll College Fighting Saints are ranked 21st in the country and off to a 2-1 start to the 2020-21 season with wins over Presentation (S.D.) and Dickinson State (N.D.) and a loss to Morningside College (S.D.). The Saints finished the 2019-20 season with a 24-9 overall and a 13-5 conference record. The Saints proved to be a juggernaut at home compiling a 14-1 record. Carroll College lost in last spring's Frontier Conference tournament's championship game 75-54 to Lewis-Clark State College. The Saints are led in scoring and rebounding by Jovan Sljivcanin (17.3 PPG, 7.6 RPG).
 
Return to Play
Montana Tech returns to action on Wednesday for the first time since the Orediggers played against No 8 College of Idaho in Dillon on November 27th. The Diggers have had five games cancelled out of their preseason schedule due to COVID-19 protocols.
 
Back-to-Backs
The Frontier Conference schedule is returning to back-to-back contests with the same opponent for the first time since the 1998-1999 season which was before the Frontier Conference expanded to include Westminster College and Lewis-Clark State College.

Montana Tech is led in scoring and rebounding by senior forward Taylor England (22.0 PPG, 10.0 RPG). England is currently eighth all time in scoring at Montana Tech with 1,146 points. The senior averaged 15.2 points per game a year ago while shooting 56.9 percent from the floor and 75.4 percent from the foul line.
 
Preseason Award Winners
Montana Tech seniors Taylor England and Sindou Diallo were both named to the Frontier Conference preseason all-conference team. Diallo averaged 19.1 PPG and England averaged 15.2 PPG a season ago. Both Diallo and England were selected all-conference and honorable mention All-Americans a season ago.
