BILLINGS, Mont. – Montana Tech's
Franchi Ceartin leads the women's field and both Oredigger golf teams rest in second place after the first day of the Battlin' Bears Invitational hosted by Rocky Mountain at the Yegen Golf Club.
Franchi Ceartin shot an opening round 74 (+4) and is one stroke ahead of Rocky's Claire Wright.
The Oredigger women shot the lowest score in school history finishing with a 319 (+35) and are four strokes behind the leader Rocky at 315 (+31).
Cierra Sundheim is tied in fourth place shooting a 78 (+7).
Samantha Benson finished with a 82 (+11) in a tie for seventh.
Emily Kelly is in a tie for 10th place with a 84 (+13).
Kennedy Lean shot an 89 (+18) and is in a tie for 15th place.
Lauren Williams is in 14th place with an 88 (+17) playing as an individual.
On the men's side, Rocky put up two under par rounds finishing with a 559 (-9) after the first two rounds. The Orediggers are nine strokes back at even with a 568.
Isaiah Weldon leads the Oredigger men shooting under par both rounds today. Weldon three strokes back with a 137 (-4).
Sean Ramsbacher is tie for fourth with a 140 (-2).
Nick Pasquarello and
Matt Hobbs are tied in 14th place with a 147 (+5).
Jace Rhodes is in a tie for 22nd with a 152 (+10).
Both teams return to action tomorrow for the final round.
