Scouting the Battlin' Bears
The Battlin' Bears enter the Frontier Conference playoffs with a 1-10 overall record and a 1-9 mark in Frontier Conference play. The Battlin' Bears were swept 4-0 by the Orediggers in conference play. Rocky is in the midst of an 8-game losing streak to Montana Tech dating back to February 27 of 2019. The Battlin' Bears are led in scoring by Maxim Stephens (14.5 PPG), Darius Henderson (13.6 PPG), and Nick Hart (11.4 PPG).

Playoff Matchups
University of Providence and Carroll College earned the top seeds in the Frontier Conference playoffs and get byes into the semifinal. Montana Tech is the 3-seed and hosts 6-seeded Rocky Mountain College while MSU-Northern hosts Montana Western in the 4-5 seeded matchup. Providence will play the lowest remaining seed while Carroll College hosts the highest remaining seed in the semifinals. The championship game will be on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. and hosted by the top seeded team. Â Â

Sindou Diallo leads the Frontier Conference averaging 18.6 PPG. Diallo averaged 19.0 PPG over the weekend against MSU-Northern. Diallo's averaging 22.5 PPG against the Battlin' Bears this season including a 35-point output on January 9.

Montana Tech's 12 wins in Frontier Conference play ties the mark set by Oredigger teams in 1997-98 and in 1984-85 as the highest amount of conference victories for the men's basketball team. The Orediggers finished the 2020-21 Frontier Conference schedule with a 12-8 mark.
