Scouting the (RV) Argos
The University of Providence Argos enter this weekend series having suffered a 73-43 loss to Montana Western on Wednesday night in Great Falls. The Argos had last weekend's games against MSU-Northern cancelled. The University of Providence is third in the Frontier Conference standings at 4-4 in conference play. The Argos are led by Emilee Maldonado (16.5 PPG, 5.4 APG) and Parker Esary (14.8 PPG, 8.8 RPG) who rank second and third in the conference in scoring per game. The Argos and Diggers split their two matchups in Butte in the beginning of January.

Road Trips
Montana Tech begins back-to-back road trips to Great Falls and then to Billings to take on Rocky Mountain College over the next two weeks. Montana Tech will not play at home again until they host MSU-Northern on the final weekend of the regular season February 20-21.

Providing a Spark
Montana Tech junior Jayden Comings started her first game on Sunday against Montana Western and scored a career-high 10 points on 4-for-9 shooting from the floor and a 2-for-2 effort from the free throw line. The Philipsburg, Mont. native averaged 8.0 points over the weekend and was 6-for-12 from the floor in the two contests.

Down to Percentages
With all of the cancellations of conference games due to COVID-19 protocols, the Frontier Conference will assign its rankings for the Frontier Conference Tournament based upon win percentage instead of win total. As the standings sit currently, Carroll would be the 1-seed, Western the 2-seed, Providence the 3-seed, Northern the 4-seed, Tech the 5-seed, and Rocky the 6-seed.

Williams Inches Closer
Montana Tech guard Mesa Williams sits at 1,179 career points and is 21 points from passing Martha Dembek (1,199 pts) on the all-time scoring list. Williams is currently 14th on the career-scoring list for Montana Tech.
