CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Montana Tech's Becca Richtman ran to a third place finish at the 41^st Annual Women's Cross Country National Championship in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Richtman finished the 5K course in a time of 17:42.02 to earn All-American honors in the event. This is Richtman's second All-American honor in the last two months. Richtman took home All-American honors at the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships in the 3,000 meter race after finishing sixth.

"Cross country nationals is really the biggest stage in our sport," said coach Zach Kughn. "Track has people picking and choosing different events but in cross country everybody is in the same race. Becca put herself in the front from the gun and battled hard amongst the best in the nation. It was one of the most exciting finishes I've seen as she was able to take home third."

Richtman's third place finish came against a field of 326 total runners that were made up by 35 teams and 98 individuals.

"It's a testament to the work she continually puts in as well as a testament to what our program can accomplish training in Butte."

Emma Wilson of Huntington College won the event in a time of 17:02.86.
