GREAT FALLS, Mont. – In another close battle on the links, Rocky Mountain College prevailed in the men's tournament over second place Montana Tech.
Sean Ramsbacher finished second on the individual leaderboard.
Ramsbacher lead after the first round shooting the then-tournament low of 68. He hit rounds of 73 and 75 to follow finishing even par for the tournament at 216. Rocky's Parker Jones took the individual medal by besting Ramsbachers first round score with a 65 in the second round. Parker finished with a 212 (-4).
Isaiah Weldon finished in third place with a 70-72-75 for a total of 217 and one over par.
Jace Rhodes and
Matt Hobbs tied in seventh place with a 228 (+12).
Nick Pasquarello took 13
th place finishing with a 233 (+17).
The Montana Tech women finished in third place just one stroke behind Carroll College. Rocky Mountain took the top spot.
Freshman
Franchi Ceartin was the top Oredigger shooting a 84-89 for a total score of 173 (+29) in the two round tournament. Rocky's Claire Wright took home the top spot again and the top three finishers were all Battlin' Bears.
Samantha Benson finished in seventh place with a 177 (+33).
Emily Kelly too 12
th place with a 184 (+40);
Cierra Sundheim finished in a tie in 14
th with a 189 (+45); and
Kennedy Lean took 19
th with a 197 (+53).
Lauren Williams took 11
th place with a score of 181 (+37), but was playing as an individual.
Montana Tech is in Billings next week for the Montana State Billings Beartooth Invitational on September 27-28.
