Scouting the No. 2 Fighting Saints
The Fighting Saints of Carroll College are 15-1 overall and 2-0 in Frontier Conference play. Carroll's lone loss of the season came against No. 10 Arizona Christian 69-67 in Chandler, Arizona at the Cactus Classic Tournament. The Saints have won three straight heading into the new year. The Saints are a perfect 7-0 at home and are led in scoring by Jovan Slivancanin (19.3 PPG, 11.9 RPG). Carroll  College leads the Frontier Conference shooting 46.6% from the field and is holding their opponents to just 59.9 PPG.
 
Scouting the Argos
The Argos of the University of Providence enter the new year with a 9-5 overall record and are 1-1 in Frontier Conference play. The Argos host Western on Thursday and then the Diggers on Saturday. Providence is led in scoring by Marcus Stephens who leads the Frontier averaging 21.2 PPG and Rashee Stocks who scores 17.4 PPG.  The Argos split their first pair of Frontier Conference games defeating Rocky at home 86-78 before falling 73-65 in Havre to MSU-Northern.
 
 Balanced Attack
Montana Tech's offense is averaging 78.2 PPG this season thanks to a balanced scoring attack led by three double-digit scorers in Caleb Bellach (14.8 PPG), Sindou Diallo (14.5 PPG), and Taylor England (12.1 PPG). 
 
A Big Road Game
Montana Tech is looking for their first road win against the Fighting Saints since February 13, 2014. The Diggers have won the last three games against the Saints in Butte, but have yet to break through in the P.E. Center.
 
Right on the Cusp
Montana Tech was the highest team receiving votes in the December 15 NAIA Top-25 Coaches Poll. The next edition of the NAIA Top-25 Poll will be released on January 12, 2022.
 
Busy Before Break
The Orediggers had a very busy end to the 2021 calendar year when they played four road games in three different states before the holiday break. The Diggers played at Dickinson State on December 11, two games in Arizona on December 15 and 16, and took on Boise State in an exhibition on December 19.
