FULL GAME NOTES

Scouting the Lights

The Lights have won two of their last three games and enter Thursday's contest in third place in the Frontier standings. Tech has won both games against the Lights this season including a 73-54 route on January 29.

Guard Mascio McCadney is third in the league in scoring averaging 18.9 points a game followed by his teammate David Harris. The forward is averaging 16.3 points a game along with 5.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists.

Playoff Picture
Carroll College and Montana Tech are tied at 12-2 atop the Frontier Conference standings. The Saints get the tiebreaker if both teams win or lose this week. If one or the other loses, the other will take the top spot. Either way, the Saints and Orediggers will have the top two seeds and receive a first round bye in the Frontier Conference Tournament. Both teams will host a semifinal playoff game on Friday February 25th at their home locations. The top seeded team left will host the championship game on Monday February 28th. The winner of the Frontier Conference Tournament receives an automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament.

Home Court Advantage
The Orediggers are 9-1 this season on Kelvin Sampson Court and 5-0 in conference action. The lone loss was to than-ranked No. 8 College of Idaho back on November 12th by a slim score of 62-59. The Orediggers have defeated conference opponents at home by an average of 11.8 points.

Senior Night
The Orediggers celebrate Senior Night Thursday. The senior class is the largest under sixth-year head coach Adam Hiatt and includes most of the current starting lineup. Playing in their final regular season game are Sindou Diallo, Drew Huse, Taylor England, Derrius Collins, Christian Jones, and Cody Baumstarck.

Late Game Heroics
The Orediggers were trailing the Argos 53-49 with 11 minutes to play last Saturday. Senior Christian Jones came off the bench and hit three critical three-pointers down the stretch.

What a Year

The Tech win last Saturday gives them a 23-6 overall record and 12-2 in conference action. The 23 wins is the most in program history. Tech hasn't had a 20-win season sine the 1997-98 campaign. The 1997-98 team was the first team to go to the NAIA National Tournament.
