HAVRE, Mont. – The men's 2022-23 Frontier Golf started at Marias Valley Golf Course at the MSU-Northern Invitational today. The Montana Tech men are in second place after shooting a two round score of 601 (+25). The Orediggers trail Rocky Mountain who finished with a team score of 588 (+12).
The Orediggers trailed the Battlin' Bears by just four strokes after the first round. Rocky increased their lead with a 292 in the second round of the day.
"Obviously we didn't have our best today, but we shot two decent rounds. I think everyone would've liked it to be lower but it's the first tournament of the year and we are a very young team," said head coach
Sean Ryan.
Jhett Braley shot a 72 and a 73 for a 145 (+1) in windy conditions. Braley is in second place trailing Rocky's Nolan Burzminski by just one stroke. Braley led Burzminski by a stroke after the first round but Burzminski shot a 71 in his second round of the day.

Jhett Braley played fantastic golf, honestly the best I've seen him play. He really lead the team today with two great round and now is in the hunt to try and win this thing tomorrow."
Matt Hobbs is in a T4 with a 149 (+5) for the two rounds.
Jace Rhodes and
JR Small are in T10 with a 154 (+10).
Nick Pasquarello is in T12 with a 155 (+11).

Matt Hobbs played a really good second round after struggling his first 18 holes."
"We did a good job picking each other up and playing team golf, some of us had it going one round and other didn't. And we still held it together. As a team we're still in striking distance but need to put together four good round in order to make it happen."
The MSU-Northern Invitational continues tomorrow with the final round of the three round tournament.
