HELENA, Mont.- The first Erck Hotels Men's Basketball Player of the Week for 2024 goes to Asa Williams of Montana Tech.

Williams, averaged 20 points per game as the No. 7 Orediggers wrapped up their non-conference schedule with wins over Lakeside College, and Ambrose University.

In the win over Lakeside, Asa led all scorers with 23 points, on 7-15 shooting. He was a blistering 6-10 from the 3-point line in that win. Adding to that, Williams was 3-4 from the foul line, he had one rebound, one assist, and two steals. In the 96-63 win, Asa only logged 27 minutes.

The next afternoon in a 127-44 win over Ambrose University, Asa put up 17 points on 6-10 shooting. He was 2-6 from the arc and 3-3 from the stripe.  He also added two steals, one rebound, and one assist in 27 minutes on the floor.

Asa -a senior from Solon, Ohio- enters the Frontier Conference regular season opener this weekend averaging 18 points per game. The Orediggers will open the conference season by hosting #15 Rocky Mountain College this coming Saturday at the HPER. The women will tip off at 2pm, the men to follow at 4 pm.
