GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence controlled the game from under the hoop defeating Montana Tech 65-53.
 
The Orediggers (10-8, 1-4) couldn't match the Argos (13-5, 4-1) in the paint or on the defensive end of the40 glass. The Argos outscored the Orediggers 34-10 in the paint.
 
The Orediggers were outrebounded 40-33 despite grabbing 15 offensive boards. Tech took advantage of the offensive rebounds scoring 22 second chance points.
 
Tech struggled shooting in the game finished with a 30.6-field goal percentage and hit just 4 of their 20 three-point attempts.
 
The Argos shot 48.1% from the field and made 6 of 18 attempts from beyond the arc.
 
Aubrie Rademacher and Liv Wangerin were the only Orediggers hitting double-figures. Rademacher led the team with 15 points shooting 5 of 15 from the field and went 4 for 4 from the free throw line. Wangerin went 6 for 13 from the field with 14 points and pulled down 7 rebounds.
 
Brooklyn Hankwitz went 2 for 5 from three-point range finishing 8 points and 4 rebounds.
 
Ashley Maldonado led the Argos with 15 points and had 4 rebounds and 3 assists.
 
Keanna Salave'a had a double-double for the Argos scoring 13 points and hauling in 12 rebounds. Salave's also had 6 assists, a block and a steal.
 
Talaih Lee had 13 points coming off the bench. Lee finished with 5 rebounds and a pair of steals.
 
Montana Tech is back on Kelvin Sampson Court next Thursday. The Orediggers host the Montana State Northern Skylights for their second meeting of the season. The game tips-off art 5 p.m. in the HPER Complex.
