HELENA, Mont. -- Following a 37-point week, Montana Tech men's basketball senior
Camdyn LaRance won the Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Offensive Player of the Week honor, the conference office announced Wednesday.
LaRance, a guard from Missoula, helped the No. 7-ranked Orediggers to a pair of out-of-conference wins over the weekend in the Best Western Tip Off Classic. He began his week with a team-high 18 points to go with two rebounds and two steals in Tech's 78-57 victory over Northwest Friday. LaRance led the Orediggers in scoring again in Saturday's 84-67 win over Jamestown, totaling 19 points, four rebounds, and an assist.
He had the hot hand all weekend, shooting 14-for-20 from the field and 4-for-7 from 3-point territory in the two wins.
This week's was the first Frontier Conference honor of LaRance's career.
The Orediggers swept this week's conference awards.
Ifeanyi Okeke took home the defensive honor for Tech.
Montana Tech takes on California Maritime at 7 p.m. Friday and No. 22 Lewis-Clark State Saturday at 7:30 p.m. as part of the Comfort Inn Fall Classic on Kelvin Sampson Court as they will look to move to 6-0 on the young season.
