HELENA, Mont. -- Hayden Diekhans laid claim to the Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Offensive Player of the Week honor after leading the No. 7-ranked Montana Tech men's basketball team to a pair of wins last week in the Comfort Inn Fall Classic, the conference office announced Wednesday.

Diekhans averaged 17.5 points and 2.5 assists per game in Montana Tech's wins over Cal Maritime and No. 22 Lewis-Clark State over the weekend as the Orediggers (6-0) remained unbeaten on the young season. He also snagged 5.5 rebounds per contest, stole four possessions, and blocked four shots.

The junior from Geraldine began the weekend with an 11-point, six-rebound performance in Friday's 102-58 drubbing of Cal Maritime and finished the weekend with 24 points, five boards, three assists, and three blocks in an 85-83 topping of LC State.

It was the first-career player of the week award for the forward, who is the reigning conference defensive player of the year. Rocky Mountain's Jaylon Lee won the conference's weekly award for defense.

Montana Tech puts its unblemished record on the line Wednesday night on the road against UC Merced. Tip is set for 8:30 p.m. Mountain time.
