LEWISTON, Idaho -- Kamryn Comba logged a top-25 finish to lead the Montana Tech women's cross country team to a fourth-place finish at the LC State Invitational.
Comba, a senior, covered 5 kilometers in 18:05 to place 22nd as the Orediggers led the NAIA field with a fourth-place team finish on the LC State Cross Country Course at Lewiston's Community Park. Tech bested Carroll, No. 20 Eastern Oregon, and No. 23 Lewis-Clark State at the meet, finishing only behind NCAA Division I teams.
Freshman
Amy Broek (31st, 18:17) and senior
Alyssa Jany (34th, 18:23) also landed in the top 35, while freshman
Mya Green was 37th at 18:32. Sophomore
Bella Bermingham rounded out the scoring for Montana Tech, finishing 54th at 19:02.
Freshmen
Kendra Jensen (55th, 19:08) and
Ryleigh Kleinke (58th, 19:13) also checked into the top seven for Tech.
Fellow freshmen
Janica Clark (69th, 19:52),
Hailey Gingery (71st, 19:57),
Hadyn Garza (75th, 20:14), and
Sydney Schneider (86th, 23:01) also competed for the Orediggers.
Montana Tech's team will take next week off before preparing for a key midseason test Friday, October 24 at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge in Grand Rapids, Mich.
