KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The unbeaten Montana Tech football team continued to be highly regarded in the NAIA's polls Monday.

The Orediggers (7-0, 2-0 Frontier Conference East) checked in at No. 2 in Monday's NAIA Football Performance Index, No. 5 in the Massey Ratings, and No. 6 in the Netting Professionals NAIA coaches' top 25 poll. All that came after the Orediggers' 49-7 win over MSU-Northern Saturday in Havre.

Montana Tech dropped a spot in the FPI, jumped by new No. 1 Lindsey Wilson. The Orediggers carry a rating of 30.43 in the ratings. The FPI is a data-driven metric that evaluates teams based on their wins and strength of schedule.

In the Massey Ratings, Montana Tech checked in at No. 5 with a rating of 4.87. The Orediggers moved up a spot to No. 6 in Monday's coaches' poll, the Orediggers moved up a spot to No. 6, their second-highest ranking of the season. Tech leapt over also-unbeaten Lindsey Wilson in the rankings with 369 points in the poll. The Orediggers maintain the highest ranking of any Frontier Conference team in the poll; they're joined by No. 12 Carroll, No. 15 Montana Western, and No. 20 College of Idaho.

The NAIA's football selection committee accounts for the FPI, Massey Ratings, and ARC ratings (Tech was No. 1 in the West in the latest ARC report.) in its process for the championship field. It does not use the coaches' poll as a criterion.

Montana Tech will take this week off from competition before returning to action Saturday, October 25 at home against Mayville State at 1 p.m.
