KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Montana Tech's women's cross country team checked in 17th in the latest NAIA coaches' top 25, the national office announced Thursday afternoon.
It's the Orediggers' highest ranking since they finished the 2021 season ranked No. 11.
The defending Frontier Conference champions climbed in the poll thanks to a sizzling performance Saturday at the LC State Invitational, when Tech finished fourth overall and tops among NAIA teams in the field, defeating a pair of ranked teams in then-No. 16 Eastern Oregon and No. 23 Lewis-Clark State.

Kamryn Comba led the way for the Orediggers in the race, clocking in 22nd, while freshman
Amy Broek and senior
Alyssa Jany also logged top-35 finishes.
Montana Tech set the pace for Frontier teams in the voting, followed by No. 20 Carroll and Dakota State, which received votes.
A panel of 18 coaches representing each of the NAIA's conferences votes in the periodic ballot. Teams' highest and lowest ratings are removed from their rankings calculations.
The next set of the NAIA cross country coaches' polls releases next Thursday, October 30.
The Orediggers hit the course again Friday, October 24 at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge in Grand Rapids, Mich.
