KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Montana Tech men's basketball team leapt up to No. 6 in the first NAIA men's basketball coaches' top 25 poll, the national office announced Wednesday.

The four-time defending Frontier Conference champions sport a 5-0 record after the first few weeks of the 2025-26 season with victories over Eastern Oregon, Southern Oregon, Warner Pacific, Ottawa (Ariz.), and Lewis-Clark State.

Montana Tech tops the Frontier Conference's contingent of teams receiving national recognition. Montana Western joined the poll at No. 24, while Rocky Mountain received votes.

The Orediggers rank sixth in the NAIA in field goal percentage (55.6), eighth in fewest turnovers per game (9.6), and 17th in 3-point percentage (41.9) in the season's early going.

Montana Tech has appeared in 21 consecutive NAIA top 25 polls, a streak dating back to January 2022. That's the fifth-longest such streak in the nation.

The team will remain home this weekend as it wraps up non-conference play Friday against Northwest. Tip in Valley Bank Arena is scheduled for 5 p.m.
