KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Montana Tech's women's basketball team remained in the NAIA coaches' top 25 poll, earning the No. 25 ranking, the national office announced Wednesday.
The Orediggers are off to a 5-1 start in 2025-26 and split the first two games of the conference season on the road over the weekend, defeating Mayville State, 79-43, Friday before falling to Valley City State, 61-58, Saturday.
Tech's ranking is just the second time in program history the Orediggers have appeared in the national poll; the first was the opening poll of the season.
The Orediggers joined a large contingent of Frontier Conference schools in the national rankings. Dakota State earned the No. 4 spot in the poll, followed by Rocky Mountain at No. 15 and Carroll at No. 16. MSU-Northern and Providence also received votes.
Montana Tech will stay home for the Thanksgiving holiday to play host to Montana Western on the front end of a men's-women's doubleheader Friday evening sponsored by Metals Sports Bar & Grill. The women's game tips off at 5 p.m. followed by the men at 7.
