AUSTIN, Texas -- College Sports Communicators bestowed Academic All-District accolades on a pair of Montana Tech men's basketball players, CSC announced Tuesday morning with its full list of the dual-emphasis honorees.

Senior Michael Ure and redshirt freshman Connor Michaud both qualified for the honor, which requires a student-athlete to maintain a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average, sophomore or better standing academically, and be a starter or significant contributor to their team. Academic All-District award recipients are then eligible to be advanced for Academic All-America honors by a CSC committee.

Ure, a forward from Idaho Falls, Idaho, ranked in the top seven in the Frontier in both scoring and rebounding this past season, averaging 12.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per contest. He also led the Orediggers with 33 blocked shots. The Frontier Conference preseason player of the year, Ure finished his career with 1,226 points to rank 11th in Montana Tech history.

Also involved on campus and in the community, the biological sciences major serves as a teaching assistant, peer tutor, and lab researcher for the chemistry and biology faculty while maintaining a 3.9 GPA. Ure also serves as a Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representative. He plans to attend medical school.

Michaud, a forward from Missoula, carries a 3.67 GPA in Tech's biological sciences program. In his second collegiate season, the Frenchtown High graduate appeared in 29 games as a key reserve in the Orediggers' frontcourt, averaging 3.2 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. He scored in double figures thrice, including his first collegiate double-double December 28 in a win over King's (Alberta).

Montana Tech won its fourth-consecutive Frontier Conference championship in 2024-25, an unprecedented feat in the league, and received a No. 21 ranking in the final NAIA coaches' poll ahead of the national tournament. The Orediggers concluded the season with a 24-7 record.

The NAIA CSC Academic All-America program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure. For more information about CSC's Academic All-District and Academic All-America program, visit AcademicAllAmerica.com.
