HELENA, Mont. -- Twenty Montana Tech men's track & field student-athletes garnered All-Frontier Conference accolades, the league office announced Thursday afternoon.

A three-event conference champion, junior Cade VanVleet, led the way for the Orediggers. The Noxon product won the discus, hammer throw, and shot put on his way to a repeat performance as the Frontier's field athlete of the meet.

Four other Orediggers picked up event victories at the championship meet earlier this week in Helena. Freshman Matthew Moreni won the 200-meter dash, junior Ben Zerr finished first in the 10,000m run, junior Morgan McClernan was first to the line in the 110m hurdles, and sophomore Nicolo Lancini won the triple jump. McClernan also landed all-conference honors in the 400m hurdles, and Zerr was all-conference in the 5,000m run.

Other Montana Tech men on the all-conference team included Colter Ball (javelin), Caden Caywood (200m dash, 4x400m relay), Jacob Dolezal (decathlon), Jon Hansen (4x800m relay), Carter Henke (400m dash), Hayden Hollow (4x800m relay), Evan Kinley (4x800m relay), Dom Maricelli (100m dash), Jackson Perry (high jump), Jeremiah Saari (triple jump), Drake Schlachter (4x400m relay, high jump, long jump), Adam Schrader (110m hurdles), Derek Schultz (4x800m relay), Andrew Tallon (javelin), and Gavin Ulland (4x400m relay).

The Frontier Conference bestows all-conference labels on student-athletes who finish in the top three in an event at the championship meet. The Orediggers finished second in the team standings at the championship.

Montana Tech's men will have a last shot at NAIA national-qualifying cuts Friday at the Tom Gage Invite in Bozeman.
