AUSTIN, Texas -- Montana Tech men's golfer Tyler Avery landed a spot on the College Sports Communicators' Academic All-District team, CSC announced Tuesday with its full list of men's at-large honorees.

Avery, a Kalispell native, sports a 3.53 grade-point average in his mechanical engineering major at Montana Tech.

He was Montana Tech's top golfer statistically in 2024-25, posting a team-best 74.5 scoring average for the season and a couple of top-five finishes. He was 11th at the Frontier/CalPac NAIA Qualifier in the postseason and played a team-high five rounds of even par or better.

Student-athletes must hold a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average, sophomore or better standing, and be a starter or significant contributor to their team. Academic All-District award recipients are then selected for eligibility for Academic All-America honors by a CSC committee.

The at-large category in the NAIA includes student-athletes participating in women's beach volleyball, men's and women's bowling, cheer, dance, men's and women's golf, men's and women's lacrosse, men's volleyball, and men's and women's wrestling.

College Sports Communicators, formerly known as College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), is a 4,400-member national association for strategic, creative and digital communicators across intercollegiate athletics in the United States and Canada. Established in 1952 and selected by CSC membership, the Academic All-America program is the longest-running and premier award for athletic and academic success across championship college sports.

The NAIA CSC Academic All-America program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure. For more information about CSC's Academic All-District and Academic All-America program, visit AcademicAllAmerica.com.

CSC will announce its men's at-large Academic All-America teams Wednesday, July 9.
