BOZEMAN -- Montana Tech's men's and women's cross country teams began the 2025 season with fourth-place finishes at Montana State University's Bobcat Twilight Friday evening.
Alyssa Jany led the way for the 23rd-ranked Oredigger women in the 5-kilometer race, taking seventh as the top NAIA finisher in the meet. The senior clocked in at 18:58.0. Fellow senior
Kamryn Comba placed 13th in 19:27.0.
Freshmen
Amy Broek (24th, 19:46.1),
Mya Green (28th, 19:57.5), and
Kendra Jensen (29th, 19:58.7) rounded out the top five for Tech's women.
Senior
Ben Zerr set the pace for the men, covering the 5k course in 15:45.6 for 15th. Sophomore
Bryon Fanning wasn't far behind in 28th at 16:23.8. Another trio of freshmen —
Michael Marlow (39th, 16:46.8),
Layne Niemeyer (45th, 17:00.6), and
Noah Miller (49th, 17:08.4) — logged top-50 finishes as well.
Montana Tech's teams return to competition Friday, September 19 in Missoula at the UM Invite.
