KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Montana Tech's women's cross country team moved up a spot to No. 22 in the first in-season NAIA coaches' poll of 2025, the national office announced Thursday.
The Orediggers are the highest-ranked Frontier Conference team in the poll. Montana Tech has appeared in four consecutive top 25 polls dating back to the middle of last season, and it's Tech's highest ranking in the ballot since the Orediggers were 19th in the 2024 preseason top 25.
Tech ran extremely well in the second meet of the 2025 campaign Friday in Missoula, finishing as the top NAIA team and fourth overall in the Montana Invite. Seniors Alyssa Jany and Kamryn Comba and freshman Amy Broek all logged top-20 finishes for the Orediggers.
While the Tech women were the only Frontier team to crack the top 25, conference opponents Dakota State and Carroll both received votes in the poll. Montana Tech's men received votes in the men's top 25, also released Thursday, joining No. 14 Carroll and No. 17 Rocky Mountain in the voting.
A panel of 18 coaches representing each of the NAIA's conferences votes in the periodic ballot. Teams' highest and lowest ratings are removed from their rankings calculations.
The next installment of the NAIA's men's and women's cross country top 25 polls releases next Thursday, October 2.
Montana Tech's men's team will return to the course next Friday, October 3 at Idaho State's Bengal Invitational in Pocatello, Idaho. The Oredigger women will head to Lewiston, Idaho the following Friday, October 11 for the Inland Empire Challenge.
