KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Five is the number of the week for Montana Tech's football team.
Saturday, the Orediggers moved to 5-0 for the first time in the program's storied history. Monday, Montana Tech moved up to No. 5 in the latest Netting Professionals NAIA coaches' top 25.
The ranking matches Montana Tech's highest ranking in the NAIA-sponsored poll, for which records date back to 1999. Tech was also fifth for several weeks in the 2017 season.
The Orediggers maintained their perfect record in the 2025 season Saturday with a 27-24 home victory over No. 25-ranked College of Idaho, marking Tech's fourth win over a ranked opponent thus far in the campaign.
Statistically, Montana Tech ranks second in the NAIA in time of possession, sixth in fourth-down conversion percentage, and 10th in both rushing yards and rushing first downs.
Tech is ranked highest among Frontier Conference teams in the ballot. No. 8 Montana Western, No. 17 Carroll, and No. 25 College of Idaho also appeared in the poll, and Dickinson State received votes.
The Orediggers will play at home again Saturday, celebrating Homecoming with a 1 p.m. kickoff against Dakota State.
