KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Montana Tech's women's basketball team continued to climb the ladder in the NAIA coaches' top 25 poll, the NAIA office announced Wednesday morning.
The Orediggers climbed to No. 12 in Wednesday's rankings, moving up two spots to their best-ever national ranking.
Winners of nine straight games, Montana Tech sits atop the Frontier Conference standings at 10-1 in conference play, and the Orediggers are 14-1 overall. It's the best start in program history.
Tech remains second-highest among the Frontier schools in the top 25 poll. The Diggers' next opponent, Dakota State, checked in at No. 7. Rocky Mountain followed at No. 18, while MSU-Northern and Carroll both received votes.
The Orediggers will hit the road to continue Frontier play this weekend, heading to Dakota State Friday and Bellevue Saturday. Both tipoffs are scheduled for 4 p.m. Mountain, 5 Central.
