HELENA -- Montana Tech sophomore
Halle Haber garnered the Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference women's basketball offensive player of the week award, the Frontier office announced Monday afternoon.
Haber, a 6-foot forward from Billings, notched her second double-double of the season in the Orediggers' 71-65 road win over Montana Western Friday, totaling 17 points and 10 rebounds. She was 8-for-12 shooting in the victory, and five of her rebounds came on the offensive glass. Haber also had two assists and a steal.
She is averaging 11.6 points and 5.3 rebounds through 18 games this season.
The conference honor is the first of Haber's Oredigger career and marks the first time Montana Tech has been represented on the league's weekly awards slate this season.
Montana Tech, currently ranked a program-best 12th in the NAIA coaches' top 25 poll, sits tied atop the conference standings with a 12-2 mark in league play. The Orediggers are 16-2 overall.
The Orediggers will have a couple more road tests this weekend, heading to Carroll Friday for a 5 p.m. tip before a Saturday trip to Billings for a 5 p.m. contest at No. 18 Rocky Mountain.
The Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference athlete of the week awards are nominated by and voted upon by the league's athletic communications professionals.
