Orediggers Stumble in Helena

Helena – The Oredigger men fell to Embry-Riddle at the Carroll College Classic Friday night 73-69.

The Orediggers (3-1) pick up their first loss of the season.

Montana Tech had a nine point lead at the break leading the Eagles 35-26.

“We were playing not to lose instead of playing to win in the second half,” said head coach Aaron Woliczko.

The Eagles applied a lot of pressure in the second half causing problems bringing the ball up court.

The Orediggers were outrebounded in the second half 24-8.

“I was disappointed in us not being physical.”

Junior guard and leading scorer the Orediggers left the game with 14 minutes to go in the second half with cramps. He did not come back into the game until the final minutes. Bock had 17 points on the night.

Normally a solid three-point shooting team, Montana Tech held Embry-Riddle Eagles to 18-percent from beyond the arc.

Adam Greger had 18 points for the Orediggers.

DeForest Carter led the Eagles with 21 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Montana Tech tips off against Eastern Oregon Saturday evening at 5:30.
