Corban Tops Tech

Helena, MT- A second half comeback for Montana Tech would fall just short as the Diggers fell to Corban University 65-63.

Corban University shot 43 percent from the field jumping out to an early 33-26 halftime advantage against the Orediggers.

Montana Tech would come storming out of the locker room to start the second half shooting 45 percent from the field and hitting six threes.

A Bryan Bock three pointer would start Montana Tech's offense in the second half. Three pointers by Trent Thompson and Brandon Rydberg would cut the lead to 39-36 Corban early in the second half.

Bryan Bock would find Brandon Rydberg in the corner for three to tie the game up for the first time with 14:23 left in the second half.

A Brandon Rydberg three point play would give Montana Tech the lead at the 12:35 mark.

Late in the ballgame a Jordan Carter jumper would give Corban back the lead 60-59 but Brandon Rydberg would respond with a leaping leaner of his own at the 3:25 mark to give Tech the lead back.

Both teams would trade baskets and an Adam Greger jumper with 1:25 left would leave the Orediggers down 65-63 with just under a minute to play.

Tough defense would force a Corban University shot clock violation and give the Orediggers one last chance to square up the game or go for the win with 9.2 seconds left but a missed three point attempt would seal the loss for Montana Tech.

Brandon Rydberg would lead Montana Tech offensively scoring 24 points and going 4 for 6 from downtown.

Adam Greger was the only other Oredigger in double figures with 10 points.

Jordan Carter's 18 points would lead a balanced Warrior attack that had four players in double figures.

Montana Tech who drops to 4-3 will finish up the Carroll College Invitational playing Biola University tomorrow night at 5:30pm.
