Scouting the Argos
University of Providence comes to Butte after ending a three-game skid that started with a loss to Montana Tech with a win over Northern Thursday night 63-58 in overtime. The Argos are led in scoring by Emily Maldonado who averages 15.8 points per game and Parker Esary who pulls down a Frontier Conference high 9.7 rebounds per game.
 
Last Time
The Diggers dropped the Argos for their first league win on January 10 in a 74-63 affair. Montana Tech defeated Providence thanks to a 20 point performance by Mesa Williams on 4-for-6 shooting from deep. The Diggers held the Argos to just a 2-for-20 effort from three point territory.
 
Scouting the Skyights
The Skylights of MSU-Northern sit at the bottom of the Frontier Conference rankings with their lone conference victory coming in overtime in Havre against Montana Tech, 59-55. Northern is led in scoring by Peyton Kehr who averages 12.9 points per game. Northern is ranked 12th in NAIA in scoring defense per game (56.9PPG).

Last Time
The Diggers lost a heartbreaker to MSU-Northern on January 12 in Havre 59-55 in overtime. The Diggers rallied back to force overtime after scoring only 24 combined points in the first three quarters. The Diggers tallied 25 in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 49-49. Mollie Peoples scored a team-high 17 points off the bench while Tiara Gilham scored a career-high 20 for Northern.
 
Freshman Phenom
Montana Tech's Dani Urick has found her footing in the Frontier Conference averaging 9.7 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in conference action. Urick, a Belt, Mont. native, is shooting 47 percent from the floor and 87 percent from the foul line for the Diggers.
 
Zard on the Inside
Kaylee Zard ranks ninth in the Frontier Conference in scoring averaging 11.4 points per game and is second in the Frontier in rebounding averaging 8.5 rebounds per game. Zard, a Forsyth, Mont. native, has recorded double-digit rebounds in seven games this season.
 
Leading at the Stripe
Montana Tech leads the Frontier Conference shooting 80 percent (112-for-140) from the charity stripe through eight conference games. Mesa Williams leads the Frontier Conference shooting 88 percent from the free throw line.
