Scouting the No. 8 Fighting Saints
The Carroll College Fighting Saints have secured themselves at least the No. 2 seed in the Frontier Conference tournament with a 12-4 league record. The Saints are led by senior standout Hannah Dean who averages 14.8 PPG, 7.3 RPG, 2.9 APG, 1.9 SPG, and 1.0 BPG. Carroll enters the final weekend of the regular season with five straight wins including a 77-47 blowout of University of Providence on Saturday.
 
Last Time
The Diggers have dropped two games to the powerhouse Saints in Helena, with the first being a 65-49 final on December 29, and a close 68-63 shootout on January 15. Mollie Peoples came off the bench to score 20 points in the most recent loss to the Saints.
 
Scouting the No. 24 Battlin' Bears
The No. 24 Battlin' Bears are in a battle with Lewis-Clark State for the third place spot in the Frontier Conference tournament with a 9-7 league record. Rocky picked up a pair of home wins over Providence and Northern last weekend and is led in scoring by Alecia Chamberlain (12.4 PPG) and in rebounding by Markaela Francis (5.4 RPG). The Battlin' Bears rank seventh in the NAIA in scoring defense per game (53.0 PPG).
 
Last Time
Montana Tech has lost twice to Rocky with the first setback coming in Butte (72-55) and the other in Billings on January 19 (74-53). Dani Urick led Montana Tech with 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting in that most recent loss.
 
Another Upset
Montana Tech's knocked off its third nationally ranked opponent on Saturday when the Diggers defeated No. 17 L-C State, 72-68. Montana Tech had previously defeated nationally ranked University of Providence twice this year.
 
Mesa Makes Shots
Montana Tech sophomore guard Mesa Williams scored 20 points and was 4-for-6 from three point territory in Tech's win over L-C State. Williams leads the Diggers averaging 13.4 PPG.
 
Freshman Phenom
Oredigger freshman Dani Urick leads all freshman in the Frontier Conference averaging 9.5 points per game.  In conference play, Urick is shooting 40.5 percent from the floor and 87.8 percent from the free throw line.
