BUTTE, Mont. – Montana Tech Head Men's Basketball Coach Adam Hiatt announced the signing of a Bozeman High Hawk, and the name should be familiar to Oredigger fans.
 
Ty Huse, a 6-foot-3 guard, signed a NAIA letter of intent to play basketball for the Orediggers next season.
 
"We are ecstatic to have Ty Huse join our basketball program," said Head Coach Hiatt. "He is a winner in every respect and his best basketball days are clearly in front of him."
 
Huses' older brother Drew is a senior on the team and his father Brad is an Oredigger Hall of Famer. His older brother Adam was an all-conference selection at Montana State Northern.
 
"Ty can really shoot the ball, has a very good basketball IQ, is fundamentally sound, and has that Huse toughness that will serve him well. He is a tremendous addition to our program and we expect big things from Ty as his career as an Oredigger unfolds."
 
Huse is averaging 16 points per game early into his senior season and helped Bozeman get off to a 3-1 start.
 
As a junior, Huse averaged 14.2 points and 4.8 rebounds a game. Huse led the Hawks in points, field goals made, and free throws made. He shot 38% from beyond the arc. He was second on the team in rebounds, assists, and steals. The Hawks reached the state tournament last year and Huse was selected all-conference.
 
Huse plans on pursuing a degree in Business and Information Technology.
